*You must possess a current, or expired by no more than 1-year, American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.

Lifeguard Certification Course​ ONLINE + CLASSROOM

Pre Requisites:

Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence
  • Swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
    - Swimming on the back or side is not permitted.
    - Swim goggles are allowed.
  • Maintain position at the surface
    of the water for 2 minutes bytreading water using only the legs.
  • Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
Timed Event
Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
  • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards.
    - The face may be in or out of the water.
    - Swim goggles are not allowed.
  • Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
  • Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding theobject at the surface with both hands and keeping the face at or near the surface.
  • Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

Description: This class is the most recent revision of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Class, 25 hours and 2 year LGT, CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification. This class is open to students at least fifteen years of age by the last day of class. Students must be able to complete, unaided, at least 12 continuous lengths (300 yards) of a 25-yard pool, be able to retrieve a 10lb brick from the bottom and swim it across the pool, and tread water for 2 mins without using your hands in order to enroll in the class. A fee of $235 is charged to cover the cost of books, materials, and instruction. Students will complete the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course, while also learning and reviewing the fundamental aspects of working as a professional lifeguard. Testing will include performance of required rescue, CPR/AED, and First Aid skills, and the standard Red Cross Course written examinations for CPR and AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Skills. Students successfully passing the written and performance tests will receive the American Red Cross credentials for the Professional Lifeguard. This is a complete course, every certification you need to be a lifeguard.

Lifeguard Re-Certification Course
​ONLINE + CLASSROOM

This is the abbreviated 2024 Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course for those who currently possess a valid Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Please note that there have been changes made to the curriculum since you last took the course so you will need to pay extra attention. You must complete the Online Course in advance of class and must be able to pass the prerequisites listed above.
