Financial Assistance - Swim Beyond the Boundaries
Where and when can scholarships be used?
Scholarships granted can be used towards lessons with our program at any of our locations! We offer classes in Georgia throughout the school year as well as during the summer. For more information on our lesson offerings, click here.
Who is eligible for financial assistance?
Parents or guardians of children ages of 2 years and up who reside in the state of Georgia may apply for financial assistance for students under the age of 18. Financial assistance is also offered for adults looking to learn to swim. Application approval and scholarship awards are made on an individual basis. The amount of assistance is determined using a sliding scale based on the total household income and the number of people in the household.
What type of information is required for the application?
You will need to complete a scholarship application and provide proof of participation in another qualified financial assistance program or proof of household income (a recent pay stub from your employer or a copy of last year’s tax return).
What if I receive financial assistance from another agency?
If you receive financial assistance from WIC, Head Start, Peachcare for Kids, or Medicaid you will automatically be qualified for the scholarship program. You will need to supply proof of your current participation in one of the programs and will not be required to submit copies of pay stubs or tax returns.
What if I my child has a disability?
If your child has a medical diagnosis of a physical, mental, or visual disability, as documented by a physician, your child may still be eligible for financial assistance. However, please contact Lainie ([email protected]) with details regarding the extent of your child's disability, so that we can be sure to place your child in a class that will be the best fit for them.
Who will be reviewing my application?
Swim Beyond maintains a Scholarship Committee which reviews application to determine eligibility. All information is handled confidentially. Once the application and all supporting documents have been submitted, you will be contacted to review the outcome of your application within 2-3 days.
How do I apply for assistance?
To apply for a scholarship, simply complete an application online. Once the completed application and supporting documentation have been submitted, the Scholarship Committee will review all documents and the Scholarship Coordinator will contact you to let you know if you have been approved.
Who do I contact with further questions?
Please reach out to Lainie, our Scholarship Coordinator via email ([email protected]). If you do not hear back within 72 hours, feel free to send a follow up!
