Missed Classes
We do not offer credits or make up lessons for missed classes. If you are unable to come to all of the classes in a given session, no reimbursements or alternate class days will be granted. Information about registering for partial sessions can be found below.
Sick Policy
Do not bring your child to lessons if they are sick or if you or your child have been around anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19. We do not guarantee any makeup lessons for absences due to illness. However, if we have the availability to do so, we will do our best to fit your student into an existing opening if you contact us in advance. No refunds will be granted.
Inclement Weather Policy
Decisions about lesson cancellations due to inclement weather are made by us while on deck. Due to the unpredictability of the weather, we rarely cancel classes before the start of the first lesson of the day. If the decision to postpone lessons is made before your class, we will send an email to the email address given during lesson registration and post an update on our Facebook page. If you receive no email, then lessons are still on! For lessons cancelled by us due to inclement weather, we will offer a couple of options for makeup lessons on days and at times that work with our schedule. No refunds will be offered for classes cancelled due to bad weather regardless of whether or not you were able to attend one of the makeup classes. If you are interested in joining us for a makeup lesson, please reach out to Lainie ([email protected]) within 48 hours of the class that was cancelled.
Refund Policy
Refunds are offered for class fees up to 7 days prior to the start of a session. This deadline is in place to allow us time to fill created openings with other students before the start of the first class. Refunds will not be granted after this point for any missed lessons unless due to a cancellation on our end where no makeup lesson is offered. Please note that all other fees (registration/transaction and annual) are non refundable. If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to reach out!
Partial Sessions
We close registration for classes a week before the date of the first lesson in each session. However, if any availability remains at that point, we are happy to accomodate students in partial sessions then. We do not offer any partial sessions before the close of registration. Please email for further information.
Parents on Deck
All of our locations have seating on deck, and we welcome parents to stay and watch their children in lessons! However, if a child is having trouble seperating from their parent/guardian, it is almost always better for that person to move out of sight. We find that, generally speaking, children have an easier time calming down when they cannot actively see someone they would rather be with. Our instructors are trained to inform the student that their parent will be back in a just little while, and then change the topic. Instructors will often ask about favorite colors... what breakfast was... what pets are at home, etc..... while walking around the pool holding the child. If a child does not begin to calm (they don't have to be perfectly happy, but we should see them relaxing somewhat), then we will find a way to signal the parent to return.
